Tilemsi Phosphate Project

The Tilemsi Phosphate Project, located in the Tilemsi Valley of eastern Mali, is highly prospective for phosphate mineralization. With over an area of 1,206 km², the project is composed of three key properties: Tilemsi, Tarkint Est, and Aberfoul, all held under the Company’s subsidiary, GQ Mali.

Great Quest holds exploration permits for these properties, in accordance with the Mining Code of Mali, which has been in effect since June 21, 2012.

Although Great Quest’s focus has been on gold, the Tilemsi Phosphate Project represents an important asset for Great Quest as it progresses exploration in Mali. The high-quality phosphate resources within this region position the company to capitalize on growing demand for phosphate in West Africa and beyond.

Phosphate Deposits

The phosphate deposits in the Tilemsi area are of sedimentary origin, having been deposited in a marine environment. These deposits are geologically similar to significant phosphate resources found in Florida, USA, and Morocco, making the Tilemsi Project a valuable asset for the company.

Drilling Programs and Resource Estimate

In 2011, Great Quest completed phases I and II drilling programs on the Tilemsi and Tarkint Est permits. These programs resulted in a NI 43-101 compliant inferred resource of approximately 50 million tonnes (Mt) at an average grade of 24.3% P₂O₅, with a cut-off grade of 10%. This resource estimate highlights the project’s significant phosphate potential.
